Concrete Driveways
Concrete driveways are a long-term investment that depend heavily on what happens below the surface. At Austin Services, we focus on proper base preparation, drainage considerations, and structural planning before any concrete is placed. This approach allows us to construct and replace concrete driveways that perform reliably under daily use, weather exposure, and changing site conditions, while integrating cleanly with the surrounding property.
Scope of Work
Our concrete driveway projects are evaluated and constructed with a focus on long-term performance, proper base preparation, and how the driveway will be used. Each project is reviewed individually to determine appropriate layout, drainage considerations, and construction methods before work begins.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Concrete Driveways
FAQs
-
Yes. We stand behind our workmanship and install concrete driveways according to the agreed-upon scope and specifications. Concrete driveways are designed based on intended use, site conditions, base preparation, and concrete thickness, all of which are discussed during the consultation process. Because driveway performance is directly aAected by vehicle loads and usage patterns, performance expectations are established upfront. Residential driveways are typically designed for passenger vehicles and light service traAic. Heavier or commercial loading requires additional structural considerations, which can be incorporated when appropriate. Our goal is to ensure the driveway is built correctly for how it will be used, rather than oAering blanket guarantees that don’t reflect real-world conditions.
-
No. Our driveway work is focused on concrete construction and replacement. We do not provide full asphalt paving services. In limited cases, we may address localized asphalt repairs related to driveway performance—such as cut-outs, transitions, or base failures— typically in coordination with concrete driveway work or to correct specific problem areas. This allows us to stay focused on the type of driveway construction we can support properly over the long term.
-
No. While decorative and stamped concrete can be visually appealing, we do not install these finishes for driveways. Driveways are high-use, load-bearing surfaces, and decorative concrete places greater emphasis on appearance than long-term performance. Over time, normal concrete movement, exposure to weather, and regular vehicle traffic can cause decorative finishes to wear unevenly, fade, or highlight cracking, making long-term appearance difficult to maintain. When a decorative driveway appearance is desired, we typically recommend paver driveways set on a properly prepared base or concrete foundation. This approach provides greater durability, flexibility, and repairability while achieving a refined finished look. We are happy to help evaluate and construct those types of solutions when appropriate.
-
No. While photos and basic measurements can be helpful for initial context, they don’t provide enough information to accurately price or design a concrete driveway. Factors such as base conditions, drainage, access, existing materials, and how the driveway will be used all effect scope and cost and can only be evaluated on site. Base conditions are evaluated as thoroughly as possible during the consultation, but final confirmation occurs once the existing driveway is removed. This is standard for driveway replacement projects, as underlying conditions are not fully visible until demolition takes place. Any findings are reviewed and addressed before work proceeds.

Our pricing is generally comparable to other licensed and insured contractors who use quality materials, proper base preparation, and experienced operators and craftsmen. We focus on building concrete driveways correctly, in accordance with local requirements and the specific conditions of each property. We may not be the lowest-priced option when compared to unlicensed installers, temporary crews, or approaches that rely on minimal base preparation or reduced concrete thickness. Our goal is to provide a driveway that performs reliably over time, rather than competing on shortcuts that can lead to premature issues.
